So Close to You

So Close to You (So Close to You, #1)
From Goodreads
Lydia Bentley has heard stories about the Montauk      Project all her life: stories about the experiments that took place at the abandoned military base near her home and the people who’ve disappeared over the years. When she stumbles into a vessel that transports her to a dangerous and strange new reality, Lydia realizes that all the stories she’s ever heard about the Montauk Project are true—and that she’s in the middle of one of the most dangerous experiments in history.

Alongside Wes, a darkly mysterious boy whom she is wary to trust, Lydia begins to unravel the secrets surrounding the project. But the truths behind these secrets force her to question all her choices. And if Lydia chooses wrong, she might not save her family but destroy them... and herself.

Why I Chose it:

The movement in this cover is what really makes this special.  It looks like a storm is brewing, which makes sense if you read the synopsis. Looks like it could be a tornado that is forming or the heavens are opening up.  I also love the colors.  That dark blue/gray makes me think that the book is going to be dark and suspenseful.

I wish I could find the cover artist online.  I've done lots of googling and came up short.  How do you guys find cover artists?  I seem to always have a hard time.

What covers are you fascinated by?

{Review}{Interview}{Excerpt} I Am Me by: Ram Sundaram

Title: I Am Me

Author: Ram Sundaram
Publisher: iUniverse
Publication date: December 22, 2011
# Of Pages: 276 Paperback
How I got the copy: From author in exchange for an honest review

From Goodreads.com

Everyone in this world faces choices every day. In ten pairs of short stories, Ram Sundaram depicts each tale in two distinct ways, offering readers a duo of choices-to reside exclusively in a realistic world or to indulge in the realms of fantasy. As Sundaram examines different stages of life-from birth to death and beyond-through the lenses of fact and fiction, he incorporates romance, humor, horror, and fantasy in an effort to portray the duality of existence.
Sundaram introduces an eclectic group of characters. In Ishvar's world, faith and hope are best friends, but when that world suddenly shatters, Ishvar begins running from his memories. A lonely boy who stammers and believes his older brother would never hurt him finally discovers the true meaning of friendship in a girl named Emma. Two birds named Max and Macs are born in the same apple tree. As the birds battle over what each thinks is his territory on a branch, they soon discover that their differences are what will bring them together.
"I Am Me" is an inspiring collection of short stories that encourages others to dream, imagine, and ponder their own worlds through two lenses.

What happens when a #1 news team becomes the top story instead of reporting it?

For TV producer Melissa Moore, crisis management comes with the job. From employee disputes to her high-maintenance boss, there’s not much she hasn’t seen or can’t handle.

But no one—including Melissa—expects a fistfight during the ten o’clock news. When sexy-but-crazy Alyssa Andrews lands a punch on her co-anchor’s face, Melissa jumps on set to help. She’s determined that WSGA’s reputation won’t be destroyed on her watch.

Both anchors are fired and Melissa agrees to fill in—but not before polishing her look from haircut to heels. While the new Melissa wows WSGA viewers, her personal life starts fraying at the edges. Melissa’s husband is away more than he’s home, leaving cryptic Post-it notes in his wake. Her mother’s antics spiral out of control at the nursing home and a stalker decides Melissa is her next target.

What happens next? Stay Tuned to find out…
