December 18: Top Ten Books I Read In 2012
(Click on title for goodreads pg)

The Perks of Being A Wallflower: Oh man.  Why did I wait so long to read this?!  It was so good and really made me think about life, love, frienship, everything!  And I loved the movie too.

Obsidian/Onyx: I can't stop talking about these books.  I've been pushing them on anyone who will listen to me.  I can't wait for the third book which just came out Dec 11.  Now I just need to go buy it!

Sweet Evil I don't know why I loved this one so much, but I kinda want to read it again!

Wanderlove: This book made me want to travel so bad.  It was one of those books you just lose yourself in.  I'll probably reread it every summer because it was so light and fun.

Of Poseidon: This book kept me laughing.  I loved the main character's voice.  It was also my first mermaid book so it must have been pretty great for me to keep wanting to read this genre in the future.

Pushing the Limits: I was so excited when I got this one on Netgalley.  I think I read it in like a day.  It was so raw and so emotional.  Loved it!

 Insurgent: Duh!

The Immortal Rules: I usually don't like dark creepy covers, but this one intrigued me and I'm glad I picked it up.  I loved it!

The Syndicate: I love The Bourne Supremecy and this book was kind of like those movies.

Under the Never Sky: This book is on so many of my lists, but I just loved it.

And a bonus #11 & 12:

Stacking the Shelves/Sunday Post #19

STSmall_thumb[2]
The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by  Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.  Stacking The Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews.  Both are a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and talk about what is coming up for the week on our blog. Link up each week.  I will be doing Weekly Recap, What books I got that week, and a sneak peek of what to expect for the next week on my blog.

Last week

I haven't posted anything in awhile.  To be honest, I hadn't even read anything in awhile.  But I recently got back into reading (just in time to accomplish my 2012 Goodreads Goal!).  Unfortunately, it's because I'm sick...again.  This time it's pretty bad, but I'm trying to stay hopeful and look at the positives.  I can read a lot now since all I've been doing is resting.  I managed to finish these books in the past week or so.

Between the Lines series was really good, but I didn't end up getting the third book.  Kind of had enough after the first two.  Where I belong and Tempting The Best Man were kind of a disappointment.  Easy was an amazing New Adult book.  Loved Catching Jordan.  I also Looooved Hush Hush...even if it did remind me of Twilight a lot.  Here's where I need your help.

Should I continue the Hush Hush series?  I have a giftcard so I could go get an ecopy of Crescendo right now.  For those of you who have read the series...is it worth the $7.99?  Or should I wait and get it in walmart for $5 like I did with the first book.

 NEXT WEEK

I just got a review copy of Nobody's Damsel (sequel to Somebody Else's Fairytale).  I'm really excited to read this.  Going to start it tonight and will probably be done with it tomorrow.  A big thank you to the author Emily for giving me a chance to review it!

What's Next #3

What's Next? Hosted by IceyBooks

Icey Books

Post 3-5 books that you want to read next, but can't decide on.
Then everyone can comment on which book they think you should read next.

Movie Addition!
When I was trying to decide what to read next I realized I had a lot of books that are movies or are being made into movies.  These three I want to read soon, but I just can't decide which one to read first.  I need some help!

Standing on the fringes of life... offers a unique perspective. But there comes a time to see what it looks like from the dance floor.

Since its publication, Stephen Chbosky's haunting novel about the dilemma of passivity vs. passion has received critical acclaim, provoked discussion and debate, and grown into a cult sensation with over one million copies in print.

It is the story of what it's like to grow up in high school. More intimate than a diary, Charlie's letters are singular and unique, hilarious and devastating. We may not know where he lives. We may not know to whom he is writing. All we know is the world he shares. Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it puts him on a strange course through uncharted territory. The world of first dates, family dramas, and new friends. The world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, where all you need is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite.

Through Charlie, Chbosky has created a deeply affecting novel that will spirit you back to those wild and poignant roller coaster days known as growing up.
I bought this a few days after seeing the movie (which I loved!).  The only thing holding me back is that it seems like it could be depressing and it's in a letter format.

From Goodreads

In their world frivolous liaisons are commonplace, but Anna and Vronsky’s consuming passion makes them a target for scorn and leads to Anna’s increasing isolation. The heartbreaking trajectory of their relationship contrasts sharply with the colorful swirl of friends and family members who surround them, especially the newlyweds Kitty and Levin, who forge a touching bond as they struggle to make a life together. Anna Karenina is a masterpiece not only because of the unforgettable woman at its core and the stark drama of her fate, but also because it explores and illuminates the deepest questions about how to live a fulfilled life.
I realllllly want to see this movie.  Kierra Knightly does such a great job in classic adaptions.  I could watch Pride & Prejudice a million times.  A fellow reader said she really liked this one.  The only thing holding me back is it's long.

From Goodreads

Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact and continue their lives apparently unchanged. Most of humanity has succumbed.

When Melanie, one of the few remaining "wild" humans, is captured, she is certain it is her end. Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, was warned about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the glut of senses, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

Wanderer probes Melanie's thoughts, hoping to discover the whereabouts of the remaining human resistance. Instead, Melanie fills Wanderer's mind with visions of the man Melanie loves - Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she has been tasked with exposing. When outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off on a dangerous and uncertain search for the man they both love.
This movie isn't coming out for awhile, but I still want to read this one soon.  I liked Twilight and I hear it's better than that.

Top Ten Books Most Anticipated for 2013

1. Premeditated: The summary of this book is what made me instantly add it to my to read list.  The cover is pretty cool too.  I think this may be my most (non sequel) anticipated for 2013...so far.

2. Opal: Okay, so this is my most anticipated sequel.  My only fear is I'll read it in a day like I did Obsidian and Onyx =(

3.  Sweet Peril:  I loved the first book and can't wait to see more Kai and Anna!

4. The Collector: This one sounds different.  Not only is it a guy's pov it's got a darker feeling to it.

5. Dance of Shadows: Anything with a ballerina on the front cover interests me.  And this one seems mysterious and creepy at the same time.  Can't wait!

6.Unravel Me: I don't think I have to explain this one.  I still haven't read Destroy Me yet.  Need to get on that.

7. Through The Ever Night: I remember reading the first one of this series in a day.  The writing style was just so unique and I loved the switching back from Perry to Aria's pov.  Plus, look at that
gorgeous cover.

8.Boundless: I forget a lot of what happens in the first two books, but I remember I really liked them so it's exciting that the last book is coming out soon.

9.The Almost Truth: I don't know why I've been excited for this one, but the cover has stuck in my mind.  Yay for contemp.

10. Isla and the Happily Ever After, Obsession, and Of Triton : These don't have covers or pub dates yet, but they're coming out in 2013.  I can't wait for all three!

What are you excited for?

Tempting The Best Man
After reading Obsidian I was so excited to find out J.L.A was writing adult fiction too!  I started reading it last night and so far it's really good.  Has anyone else read it yet?

WEEKLY RECAP

Sooooo much has happened in the past few weeks.  I completely stopped reading because my life got crazy busy.  But getting sick on Thanksgiving left me nothing to do except sit on the couch and watch Greek on Demand or read.  I finally finished the Vampire Academy series yesterday.  Loved the ending!  Last night I got Tempting the Best Man on my nook app and am excited to get back to reading...and blogging.  It was the first book I've bought or gotten from the library in about a month so that's why I haven't done any sunday posts in awhile.  I've only got 10 books to go until I reach my 100 book goal for goodreads for 2012.  I got about 5 weeks to do it.  Sounds do able.  How are you're goals for this year going?  Can't believe 2012 is almost over.

 NEXT WEEK

Idk what'll be happening next week.
I've got to get back into my reading/blogging routine.  I missed you guys!

What goodies did you get this week?
Leave a link and I'll stop by.
