Jason Vanderholt, Hollywood's hottest actor, falls head over heels for everygirl, Chloe Winters, who hasn't gotten around to watching most of his movies. She becomes the woman every other woman in America is dying to be, but it just isn't her fairytale.
þ Hot, adorable, sweet love interest (and for once no insta-love!)
þ New Adult Genre
þ Fast read
I blew through this book in a few days. The fact that the main character is in college was a big bonus for me. I was getting kind of bored with reading all YA. Sometimes it's hard to connect with those characters. This main character, Chloe, was refreshing. She knows what she wants in life and goes after it. She's hard working in school and doesn't fall to the ground and worship sexy Jason Vanderholt just because he's a super star (no instant love for once-thank you E.M. Tippets I am forever grateful). Now I like to think of myself as very down to Earth like Chloe, but if someone like Ryan Gosling showed interest in me I don't know how I would act. Especially if he was acting like Jason does in the beginning, kind of arrogant. I'd like to think that I would not faint from swooning, but if he's that hot who knows haha. I give Chloe props for not swooning too much or letting it control her rational thoughts though.
The only thing I didn't like was the last few chapters. I knew it was coming, but it just didn't sit well. Then I remembered that the whole story is about a "fairytale" that she doesn't want originally so then the ending made more sense to me then. I wished that there had been at least one more chapter to show what like is life in the future for her though.
Despite the ending, I'd recommend this book to all my friends. It's definitely a book I will read over and over... preferably while I'm on the beach sippin some iced tea (definitely a great summer read since it's mostly light & cute). I'm also looking forward to trying other books written by this author!
"He kept his gaze locked with mine and slowly, as if he wasn't sure what he was doing, he reached out and stroked my hair, gentle as a butterfly. All the while he looked like he was waiting for me to either jerk away or punch him." -Someone Else's Fairytale
