Matchmaker Matchmaker Make Me A Match: Valentines Day Pair Ups

12:00 AM

Sometimes I think if it weren't for romantic movies and books I'd give up on the idea of love all together.  But how can you not believe when you think of classic couples like Noah and Allie in The Notebook?

So to get all us skeptics in romantic spirit today, here are a bunch of books to read this Valentines Day that are similar to some of my favorite romantic movies.  It's a if you like this...than you might like that type of post.  Enjoy!
(Click the books for my reviews or goodreads)

Besides the fact that the male leads are ridiculously swoon-worthy?  Well, these are two great romantic stories about a young couple who fall for each other fast.  The girl comes from a privileged life where the mother strongly disapproves and the boy from a lower class family who is the perfect boyfriend.

Do you believe in fate?  At the end of this movie/book you'll sigh and smile because you'll believe in love at first sight after experiencing both.  They tell the story of two people who meet by chance and are parted unexpectedly.  But somehow fate brings them back together.

Do you accept this rose?...I mean crown?  Okay so this is a show, but if you love The Bachelor you'll definitely enjoy The Selection.  Both are contests to win a hot/rich guy's heart that is broadcasted on TV.  Anyone watching this season...Tiara needs to go!!!  Am I right?

These main characters are transported into an alternate universe version of themselves where they fall for someone they wouldn't have in their old life.  These are both light fun reads that'll and will warm your heart and leave you thinking.

Like so many good stories, two characters from two different worlds fall in love.  It's hard to make it work when everyone around is judging the relationship and thinking it'll fail.  But somehow in the end can love conquer all?

If you're looking for a laugh and a slow building romance this is definitely for you.  Both involve british characters that fall for someone they sort of hated in the beginning.  There are a lot of hilarious embarrassing moments that made me crack up in both.

Okay, so I haven't actually read Invisibility yet, but if you read the synopsis it sounds exactly like Just Like Heaven!  I'm so excited to read it.  Basically in both one character moves into an apartment and they are the only people who can see the ghost or invisible person there.  Love ensues.  Doesn't that sound amazing?

Ever go away for a summer and come back completely changed and in love?  Ya me neither, but I always see this in movies and books and I love it!  Both girls go on a vacation where they meet a boy who needs saving from his own self doubt.  (Both involve mature content).

Both are about a Marine who falls for someone back home.  While Dear John shows us their relationship while he's away...Something Like Normal is more about their time spent at home.  Both are about hardships of being in a relationship with someone who has been to war or is going though.

This is a bit of a stretch.  I won't say much about these, but they're both cute and have similar romantic plots...even if one's about marriage and the other football.

What I want to know:
1. What romantic books/movies are you enjoying this Valentines day?
2. Can you think of any other matches?

Happy V-Day everyone!
