The Bookish Wedding Tag

I got to part two in The Girl of Fire and Thorns so there will be a review coming up within this next week.  I feel like a bad blogger for not reading lately.  But I've been focusing on BookTube and stuff so here is yet another video.

Tag videos in the BookTube world are fun visual surveys pretty much.  So I created one where you pick which fictional characters you'd want to attend your wedding and what roles they would play.  Here are my answers.

And as always you don't have to be a vlogger to participate.  I'll leave the questions below if you want to do this in a blog post format.

How The Fault In Our Stars Helped Me

Have you ever read a book that has helped you through a dark time in your life?

I hadn't until very recently.

Here's a video about my experience with Crohn's Disease and how TFIOS helped me.

Society's Influence On What We Read

Banned Books Week just ended recently and I thought this would be the perfect time to talk about how wrong it is that society is still controlling what we read.  And even when books are not being physically banned people are thinking it's not socially okay to venture into other genres just because of their age group.

Weird Bookish Habits

I didn't realize it before, but I have a lot of habits that I HAVE to do every day that involve how/when/where I read.  Do you do any of these things or am I just weird...actually maybe don't answers that.

But for real, let me know if you do any of these things.  What are some of your weird book habits that I didn't mention?

From Goodreads:
The second installment in Kristen Simmons's fast-paced, gripping YA dystopian series.

After faking their deaths to escape from prison, Ember Miller and Chase Jennings have only one goal: to lay low until the Federal Bureau of Reformation forgets they ever existed.

Near-celebrities now for the increasingly sensationalized tales of their struggles with the government, Ember and Chase are recognized and taken in by the Resistance—an underground organization working to systematically take down the government. At headquarters, all eyes are on the sniper, an anonymous assassin taking out FBR soldiers one by one. Rumors are flying about the sniper’s true identity, and Ember and Chase welcome the diversion….

Until the government posts its most-wanted list, and their number one suspect is Ember herself.

Orders are shoot to kill, and soldiers are cleared to fire on suspicion alone. Suddenly Ember can’t even step onto the street without fear of being recognized, and “laying low” is a joke. Even members of the Resistance are starting to look at her sideways.

With Chase urging her to run, Ember must decide: Go into hiding…or fight back?

My sister's wedding is in a few weeks so we've been so busy doing last minute things like dress fittings and trial hair runs.  I had a bad week health-wise the past few days so I decided to buy myself a crap ton of books.  Retail therapy at its finest!  They came in the mail this weekend so I can't wait to share them with ya'll next Sunday.  Thanks to Aubrey and Margo I knew exactly which books to buy!

Congrats to Majibookshelf for winning my copy of Opal from my blogaversary giveaway!  I was able to get it in the mail yesterday so it should be coming to you soon.
